'Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid." And Peter answered Him and said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." So, He said, "Come." And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught Him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.' (Matthew 14:22-32)

When I stand in front of you I can tell you with absolute confidence, God is in control of my life. He is the boss. He is in control. He loves me. I do what He says. Simple. It is a very simple life. He is in control. He knows what is going to happen. I trust Him. I do what He says. That is the Christian life. This is not religion. It is not a formula. Just Jesus and you. That is the beginning of the story and the end of it too. Jesus and you.

When I was in prison He rescued me. I didn't stay ten years. I believe in miracles. Hallelujah; God answered prayer! God sent the British Prime Minister. I didn't just come out of that prison, I flew home with Harold Wilson. That is God. I want you to understand, God knew what He was doing. When I was put in prison, God knew what He was doing. He was going to get me out with power. I was going to come out with the Prime Minister, I flew back to England, I was on television, I was in all the newspapers, I was preaching to thousands of people; why? Because I had been in prison. Jesus was with me all the time. Isn't it wonderful? He was there all the time.

Get out of that boat; get out of your security; get out of all the problems; follow Jesus. Give your life to Him. Every time you get in a storm, Jesus is there. When you are sinking down, Jesus is there - not in the boat, He is in the water with you. He is in the storm with you. Even if you are as old as me, get out of your boat, follow Jesus, walk on the water; leave your sin, leave your past. You say, "I am going to sink, I can't do it", yes you can! When you sink, Jesus is there and He is going to lift you up. All He says is this, "Don't be afraid, trust Me."

I've learned to trust Jesus with all the things in my life. When I am up on the highs or down in the lows, Jesus is always there. I want to trust Him. I want to believe in Him. I want to know Him. I want to be where He is. What Jesus says is, "Follow Me". Call out to Jesus now, "Lord help me!" He will answer you straightaway. He will come and stand at your side, He will deliver you. But you have to make the decision to get out of that boat.
