Buses from all over Israel brought Russian-speaking Holocaust survivors and WWII veterans to Tel Aviv to hear David Hathaway speak to them. He said: 'The Old and New Testament introduce us to Yeshua, Jesus. His Name means: God saves, God delivers, God sets free. You have been delivered from the Holocaust, suffering and war - God did this, God brought you here to Israel! In Deuteronomy 4, Moses reminds the people of Israel about the greatest miracle, their deliverance out of Egypt. But in Jeremiah 16:14, God speaks of a greater miracle, a greater deliverance. - You are the fulfilment of the prophecies of Scripture! I believe in the God of Israel who prophesied that you would come out of Russia and Ukraine - you are the evidence of God's power, of His salvation, of who Yeshua is! If you want peace in your heart, you have to forget the past, you have to forgive. It's impossible. Which is easier, to forgive sin or to heal the sick? Both are impossible. But the healing, the miracle you need, is the demonstration of who Yeshua is!'

It is 50 years since David first went to Israel. In May 1961, after eleven years as a full-time pastor and evangelist in Britain, David's ministry to Russia and Europe began as a result of organising the first ever overland expedition by road to Jerusalem, travelling behind the Iron Curtain through Arab countries and into Israel. This trip marked a major milestone in David's life.

David says: All I know is that my experience with God is step by step. Every step, however difficult, however impossible, is another miracle towards experiencing the power of God in my life!

ISRAEL AND PROPHECY

God says in Isaiah 40:1-5, ‘Comfort ye, comfort ye, My people, speak comfortably to Jerusalem and cry unto her that her warfare is finished, her iniquity is pardoned, for she has received of the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, every mountain and hill shall be made low, the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain. And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.’

The great desire of my heart is to see the glory of God revealed to an ungodly, unbelieving world that has rejected and turned away from God – that they would see the physical manifestation of His glory here on earth!

GLORY TO THE GOD OF ISRAEL!

God has set a prophetic seal on our work in Israel! Before the start of our Friday meeting in Israel, one of our key organisers told us he recently had a new member in his congregation, a man who is telling everyone that he was miraculously healed in a hospital in Russia when David prayed. We asked, “What’s his name?” – “Anton!” – “Oh Anton from Perm! The one who should have had his leg amputated! Phone him and tell him to come to the meeting tomorrow!”

DO YOU NEED AN ANSWER TO PRAYER?

Do you have a pressing problem and do you desperately need an answer to prayer? To do the work of this ministry takes us to the extremes of our faith, until no man can answer, only God. Whilst praying recently, my eye fell on a comment in the book, Rees Howells Intercessor. To paraphrase, Howells was saying, the whole purpose of prayer is to get the answer, and that we must ‘not lose anything the Spirit has revealed to us’.
