 Dear Ministry Partners  

This was really exciting! I have just returned from a very interesting conference with a group of Vietnamese refugees in Germany. Some of these are the original ‘boat people’, who escaped from communist Vietnam, found Christ, and are now sending evangelists and missionaries to bring the Gospel to one of the last communist countries! When you realise that to the Americans, Vietnam was their biggest disaster of the twentieth century – what a miracle that God has used this to bring these refugees to the West, so that they could find Christ, then risk their lives the second time to take the Gospel back to their nation! Their goal is to win 50% of Vietnamese people for Christ before the Lord returns, but because of the danger (my interpreter has been in prison 15 times), I had to preach against their fear! They found my experiences (including prison) similar to theirs, and because of my experience working under communism, they are looking to me to help and encourage them! Please pray because this may lead to an invitation to hold a crusade in communist Vietnam next year!

My personal request – is for you to join with me in strong prayer for a spiritual breakthrough which will bring a Holy Ghost Revival to Tallinn in September. We need to set aside a full month of prayer. In Tallinn the believers will have a chain of prayer for the four weeks immediately before we start. Please join us for the four weeks from Sunday August 24 until the closing day Sunday September 21. One of the pastors who will be attending was with me at the conference in Bulgaria in August 1989 when real Revival swept the whole of Bulgaria, and he, with me, is expecting something like this to happen this year in Estonia.

Looking at our accounts it is interesting to see that the amount we spent in 2007 on evangelism and actual ministry was 100% of our total income! The relatively small amount spent on administration was mostly covered by the ‘Gift Aid’ tax benefit which the government gives from your donations! I think that this is important, we are not holding reserves – we spend to the limit – what you send goes to winning the lost and needy to the Kingdom of Christ, planting churches and raising up others to evangelise!

That is why we praise God that finance is still coming in response to our month of prayer – but we still need more. Thanks to your giving, we can now cover the Estonia Crusade, but we desperately need more finance for the Autumn Crusades which are proposed after Tallinn – Russia in October, Bulgaria in November and Israel in December. The crusade in Russia is important – my visa expires on 30 October, so we are planning our largest ever crusade in Perm, days before it expires – but we need £100,000!

Another urgent request for prayer – like many of you reading this letter, a businessman who is our largest donor, is under powerful attack from the devil. This brother in Christ has given to evangelism, including financing the Alpha Course as well as being a major support to us in Eurovision. The devil ‘as a roaring lion, is seeking to destroy him’. Please support him in prayer for God to bless his financial position that, as he has sown into evangelism, God would fulfill Malachi 3:10-18: ‘“Bring your tithes into the storehouse – prove Me (even in your crisis) and see if I will not pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough to contain it – I will prevent pests devouring your crops and your vines will not cast their fruit… then all nations will call you blessed. You have said harsh things against Me, says the Lord, you have said it is futile to serve God, what did we gain, but now we call you blessed!” Then those who feared the Lord talked together and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in His presence concerning those who feared and honoured His Name… “They will be mine…  I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him. You will see the distinction between the righteous and the wicked between those who serve God and those who do not!”’

What a promise – from a God who KEEPS HIS WORD – and who never fails.

Every one of you giving into this ministry, even out of your difficulty, can claim this promise – which covers you – your business and family. ‘For no matter how many promises God has made, they are yes in Christ… He has set His seal of ownership on us, and His Spirit in our hearts as a deposit and guarantee.’

Welcome – we want to meet you!

So – we will be holding an Open Day at our offices here in Dewsbury on Saturday 11 October. From approximately 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm we will be here to welcome and meet you at our offices – that is myself, the UK staff and the Trustees. All our partners are invited, but we would appreciate a reply indicating how many of you will come, to enable us to plan accordingly. We are unable to provide meals – but tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available from 1.30 pm followed by a time of prayer and praise, praying for the Holy Spirit to fall in revival power, and thanking the Lord for all that He has done! We will have plenty of parking. The prayer meeting will be either in the grounds, or at a local hall – hence our need to know approximate numbers.

Dewsbury is easily accessible by car, our offices are 10 minutes from either the M1 (Junction 40) or the M62. By train we are 7 miles from Wakefield Station (main-line from Kings Cross or Scotland) or 1 mile from Dewsbury Station (TransPennine). We will give full travel details on request.
