TV-EVANGELISM ODESSA, UKRAINE

In Odessa we worked with a pastor who has not only a vision for evangelism, but also a vision and a practical plan to keep the new converts! Pastor Sergei organised all our previous campaigns in the city, bringing together many of the local churches. During our last city-wide crusade there in the city square, there was an irrefutable demonstration of the power of God: a storm came upon the whole city, but when David commanded the rain not to fall in the square, God held back the storm, but only in the square! The result was that the communist city authorities who had clung to their beloved statue of Lenin, took him down and removed him from the square immediately afterwards!

There is a great danger in Odessa that the pastors become complacent about evangelism, as historically, it was a Moslem stronghold, and now today has two mosques, one of which is a great Cultural Centre, to reclaim the territory for Islam! But God’s favour is still on the evangelists in the city – there was a great anointing to heal the blind in these crusade meetings.

From Odessa we went to Kherson for a leaders’ conference. The fire came down as we have not seen it for 15 years in Ukraine. The hearts of the men who attended were changed. The result is that we now have a plan to take the whole Crimea for Christ in a big campaign in July. The reason? Because Islam is taking Crimea fast, and because the pastors received the courage to rise up to the challenge and evangelise now. Participating in this campaign all over Crimea will be the pastors and evangelists, including the evangelistic pastor from Odessa and others in Crimea and South Ukraine fired up like him.

We are calling together every willing worker, every willing pastor, every willing church leader and evangelist, with a heart for this great project – it cannot be done alone.
