UKRAINE TV CRUSADES

CHERKASSY AND NIKOLAYEV

Our evangelistic meetings in Ukraine were the largest we have seen since the early days of the freedom in the 1990s. The churches agree, those days were not the real revival, but only a preparation for what the Holy Spirit is about to do now.

In Cherkassy the large auditorium was packed each night with people standing and thousands repenting. There was a very special anointing on David’s preaching and the healings were correspondingly significant.

In Nikolayev the meetings were held in the football stadium. – Even before our arrival there was an expectation among the organising churches that the crusade would bring a significant breakthrough. Because of the explosion of healings, the news of the meetings spread like wildfire and the numbers attending grew to over 4000 on the last evening. One man travelled the 450km from Kiev with his whole family and God worked a wonderful miracle in his teenage daughter: she told everyone in the stadium, “A veil came off my eyes, I can see people’s faces clearly and I can read the advertising in the stadium! I’m lost for words – it’s such a great gift for me!” A woman came with a wonderful story of the kind of restoration that only the Holy Spirit can bring: two years ago she and her husband came to David’s meeting in Nikolayev – drunk – God delivered them from alcoholism; in David’s meeting last year she was healed of lumps in both breasts and – she discovered – she was healed of secondary infertility – now she has a baby 3 months old!

When people see the miracles – as you can see in these crusades – they often ask: “Is there any lasting result?” One of the pastors organising the evangelism in Cherkassy, also organised for us in Russia in 2003 and followed through the results afterwards. He told us: “An unbelieving woman dying of cancer was brought to the meeting in Volgograd and was totally healed. Her son was also healed of HIV Aids. They became believers, their friends and relatives believed and a church and Bible School were started in their village. This work continues today, all because of what God did for one woman.” Wherever David preaches the Gospel, new pastors, leaders and evangelists are raised up, and we are told that many of the best workers in the churches are the converts from his meetings. No social, political or educational Christian effort can produce the changed life that the Holy Spirit brings through the simple Gospel of Jesus Christ when it is preached with power and authority.
