TV EVANGELISM KLEIPEDA LITHUANIA

Kleipeda is a sea port on the Baltic, the third largest city in Lithuania, a small country the size of Ireland. One of the most ancient people groups in Europe, it has scarcely ever been independent of nations more powerful than itself. Now, after emerging from the Soviet Union, it has come under the European Union.

There was a great revival here when communism first fell. Since then church growth has been slow, many have fallen away, and new members are added just one by one. For ten years there has been a total silence in evangelism in Lithuania, the leading pastors told us. “We do our best to keep each other encouraged, but the spiritual atmosphere closes in over us. Your evangelism here in Kleipeda has lifted us – we have worked together to make it happen and we have seen the results. Even the advertising before the crusade was shown on three channels nationwide – it has lifted the position of the churches.”

After we left, the three meetings in Kleipeda (their inspirational praise and worship, the preaching of faith in Jesus Christ and the miracles of healing) were shown nationwide on their own TV. This was our first major crusade held under European law – it is possible, we found a way!
